Wedding Themes
After confirming the wedding date and wedding venue, the next in line will be wedding theme. Why? Wedding theme determination your entire wedding like your wedding attire, decoration, favours, cards, etc... Now you understand why wedding theme is important? Well, it is never easy to decide on wedding theme. G has to go the extra mile to research from the entire websites to get ideas before N can pick and decide on it. Their wedding coordinator and G's sister are also assisting them to give ideas.
Through G's research, here is a little guide for you:
Here are four aspects of your wedding that can help you develop your theme and have a good head start with your planning:
1) Color
Some wedding themes are as simple as a preferred color combination. Your favourite color is a good start. If you have more than one, see if these colors complement each other and can have an appealing combination. You can do this by using color swatches or a color wheel to find a combination you like. Once you’ve found it, apply it on your wedding details, such as your favors, invitations, décor and your bridesmaids’ dresses.
2) Season
The date of your wedding is also a good inspiration for a theme. For a summer wedding, pick elements that highlight the season, such as sunflowers and bright citrusy colors like yellow and tangerine. Or you can look into the blooms or fruits in season on the month of your wedding and make them your wedding elements as well. The time or season can create a rich experience for your wedding so use it as an inspiration in decorating your venue and putting together the entire celebration. (Well, Singapore do not have the season but you may choose one which both of you would love)
3) Setting
If you already have a wedding venue in mind, then develop a theme that you can incorporate into the place. A garden can give you a simple ceremony with an intimate and laid back reception – and that already is a theme! From there you can select other details on how to spruce up the place and create that relaxing atmosphere for your wedding. While a grand ballroom with a crystal chandelier and gilded walls is the perfect place for a fairytale or fantasy wedding. (This varies with your venue like church, hotel or restaurant)
4) Mood
What is the ambience you want to have for your wedding? Do you want it to be an elegant formal dinner or do you wish to have a private and intimate celebration? Whether you want your wedding to be modern and formal or quirky and casual, you can start your wedding plans by first deciding on the atmosphere you want to have on your wedding. From there, find a place where you can experience it and piece together the other details you need. The feel you want to have on your wedding can guide you in crafting your theme.
Whatever theme you come up with, make sure that it is timeless so that in the years to come you won’t feel regret as you look at your wedding photos and realize how cheesy it all was. The key is to know what you really like and choose a theme that is more classic than trendy. Choose something which both of you like.
For N & G, they would preferred something that they have in common but it can never easy to decide on that. Currently, their favourite pastime is exercising like jogging and swimming. Well, G also wish to have themes that suit N and not just her. Certain couples would love sweet colours but definitely G also like it but wedding belong to the both of them so she hope a colour will suit both of them. Here is some ideas of how they decide;

Wedding Verse: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
